5.7.16 – “ENDURANCE RACING IN MY ACCORD RACING MACHINE”

Really fun race.  I had a good start and got up to 1st pretty quickly.  From there I was able to stay in the lead for the first 29 laps.  Robert Rice was slowly gaining on me and with every lap, I was really hard on my tires.  I was a little greedy with trying to carry too much speed through the corners which was causing the car to push.  By the end of the race I was down to the steel belt on the front right tire.

Robert got on my inside during the last lap and I could not take back 1st.  I ended up finishing 2nd, by just .508 of a second. Given how bad of shape my tires were was a pretty good result.  My first top 3 at Irwindale and I set fastest lap of the race, so a great night!
